White Christmas in Hell – A How To Guide

Cool title, huh?

My Pastor went out of town this week, and asked me if I would bring the message to the congregation. Of course, I agreed.

So, in the spirit of Christmas, I came up with this.

White Christmas in Hell – A How To Guide

Although this is a little off topic from what I normally post, I thought I would share it with you.

We all have our Christmas wish list.

It may include items that we need like a new car or a new house or perhaps a better doctor’s report. It may also include things that we want like the newest cell phone or a new waistline. We send our list to God through prayer, and wait in faith for Him to answer.

What I wanted to encourage the members of my church to do this year, however, was something different. This year, I wanted them to find out what’s on God’s Christmas list, and work on giving Him what He wants.

Yes, ask God for His Christmas list.

What do you think is on God’s list?

I’ll tell you.

Based on John 3:16-17, what you’re going to find on His list are names.

You’ll find the names of people in your circle of friends, family and acquaintances that don’t know God. These are people who you come in contact with on a regular basis who you know don’t have a personal relationship with Christ.

These are the people who God wants to become part of his family.

As you peruse the list that God has, you’ll find some names that you’ll say, “OK, I can talk to him. He’s a good friend. He’ll be open to a conversation about God.” You’ll also come across, however, the names of people who will make you say, “No way! Impossible! Not evil Uncle Bob! There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that this person will come to know God!”

That’s where this manual comes in.

We all have people on our list like Uncle Bob. They’re the ones who don’t want anything to do with church or God or Christians. They’re the typical “Snowball’s chance in hell” person.

Believe it or not, he’s on your list.

The good thing is that God wouldn’t put Uncle Bob on your list if you weren’t the perfect person to be His messenger.

You don’t have to go and give a long sermon or a detailed explanation of the fall of man.

The best way to reach your Uncle Bob is with love. The Bible teaches us that God is love, so when you demonstrate love, you demonstrate God.
If you will accept the challenge to give God what’s on His list, you’re going to find that God will put in your path that perfect opportunity to demonstrate God’s love. You’ll notice that Uncle Bob is going through a particularly difficult time, and you’ll be ready to take the first step.

“Hi Uncle Bob, I know you’re going through some stuff right now, and I can’t fix it, but I’m going to mention you in my prayers.”

Something as simple as a mention in your prayers is a form of sharing God’s love. This is how you break through the hard outer shell that every Uncle Bob has.

You’ll be surprised how easy it will be. God will give you the words. All you need to do take that action.

And if you reach your Uncle Bob, and I reach my Uncle Bob, and everybody else who is reading this reaches their Uncle Bob, guess what’s going to happen in hell.

It’s going to snow!

Let’s dedicate ourselves to put away our Christmas list and ask God for his.

Spread the word!

Let’s make this a white Christmas in hell!

Thanks,

Blessed!

Sam
