Lesson # 3. Today I wanted to talk to you about the best way to get your site noticed in Google searches. It’s called link building.
If there is any one strategy that helped UponThisRock.com earn its popularity, it’s link building. If you notice, we not only offer free graphics, but we also have pages that include links to different sites around the web that are family-friendly. We offer to add a link to our site for free. In exchange, we ask that they also include a link back to UponThisRock.com on their site. Some don’t, but many do, and that is the main reason why we rank so high in Google.
“So how do I get people to add a link to my site on their site, Sam”
I’m glad you asked.
There are a few ways to do this.
Probably the best way is to ask people to add your site to their links page. There are better ways to do this than others. My suggestion is to visit a good site that is like your site, and add a link to them on your links page. Then find their email address, and tell them that you have posted a link on your site. Ask them if they would help you out by adding a link on their site back to you. Most people will do this.
Most ministers are in communication with other ministers who may have websites. It can be mutually beneficial is you were to exchange links. (Feel free to also tell them about this site.)
The best way, however, to get people to add your site to their link pages is to provide quality content that people will want to share with others. If you give people something of value for free, they’re going to want to share it.
Another good way to get links to your site is to make comments on other people’s post. Find a blog about a topic in your site, and post a comment. Make it a sincere comment, and the owner will post it on their blog, which will contain a link back to your site.
Try that now. Post a comment about this post, and you’ll have one more link back to your site. The key is to make sincere honest comments. Not only will it provide you with a link, but it may lead to the owner of that site checking out your site, and maybe blogging about it to his/her readers which will lead to more people visiting your site. See how this works?
What do you think?
Thanks,
Blessed!
Sam
